I go by Louis Burrell AKA Backpack Lou... Born in Oakland and raised in Richmond. I discovered my love for keys on accident. I grew up in church and always wanted to play drums I never had the opportunity to perfect that craft. I gravitated towards the piano and organ. I truly believe that people will know what is in your heart when you show them through your art. I've had the opportunity to perform at various venues and with many artists and have made my home with DAWNARI. With my smooth and laid back demeanor, you may also find me accompanying vocals with smooth chordal movements and arrangements. I go by Louis but they call me Backpack Louie... I am a Cre8tive Genius and I bring my love for music and smooth style to DAWNARI.
I go by Nacio Miller or Nasty Nac... When you listen to music, what do you hear... the beat or the lyrics??? When I hear music I listen for creativity... I'm able to mimic what I'm hearing and develop new ways to intertwine what I hear to create a new sound. This is the cre8tive genius I bring to DAWNARI. I have a love for all genres of music but my musical passion lie in Gospel, R&B and what some would like to call Soul Hop. I discovered my love for music in church when I first picked up my first set of sticks. Over the years, I've worked hard to perfect my skills and through hard work have become a noted professional drummer and Music Producer. Music is not just my hobby, it's in my blood. I was blessed with a talent that can only be defined as hereditary and with my passion, talent and hunger to succeed in this music game, success is only a small reward for doing what I love, I go by Nacio but they call me Nasty Nac... I go by Roll Tide Rod or Rod Brewster... Raised in Alabama, I began interpreting my ear and love for music at the age of 3 when my mother gave me a ukulele. At the age of 7, I got my first acoustic guitar and at 9, I began playing lead guitar at churches throughout Alabama. and later picked up the bass guitar and the drums. During high school, I played in a marching band and received a scholarship to college for music and after college, I brought my heart and soul and guitar to California. Since settling in the Bay Area, I've gotten a chance to expand on my musical talents to include musical directing and production and playing for a plethora of talented people. I hope to leave a lasting legacy of musical bliss to anyone and everyone that comes in my path. Music is a language, a direct connection to our heart and soul. I can write and play it, but after that, what you do is up to you. I'm Roll Tide Rod and I'm a Cre8tive Genius. I affectionately bring Soul to DAWNARI through my manipulation of the bass and guitar!
I go by Lamar or Rudeboy Lameezy Green... I'm focused on making it happen spiritually, mentally and in reality... I'm being a better me. I'm a pianist, a drummer, a composer and a vocalist. The road I've traveled has been anything but easy. Overcoming many obstacles, I've been determined to do one thing that's always made life simple, play music. At the age of 7, I picked up a pair of drumsticks and immediately consummated my love for gospel music. It was through the rhythm of the drum that I saw a world of possibilities and by 16 began playing piano and composing music that I heard in my soul. That song never ended and it was with that song that inspired me to pursue my B.A. in Music and Music Theory, paving the way for me to be a leader, versed in music and express my talent. I look to diverse musical worlds in my fusion of gospel, jazz, R&B, pop and contemporary sounds to sooth the listening ear. I go by Lameezy Green, my unique chord arrangements and distinctive harmonic melodies elevate the Cre8tive Genius in DAWNARI.
I go by Jason Ryan, the Green-Eyed Hitman... Born in Southern Cal and raised in Oakland, I started playing the Sax at the age of 10. Driven by the greats Grover Washington Jr., George Howard, Coltrane and others my mother played around the house, I learned as much as I could and took it to my spiritual home. My church embraced my desire and donated a Saxaphone so I could learn. I taught myself how to play by reading "How To" books and playing to cassettes. I've taken the lessons learned and molded it into my smooth, melodic and hynotizing sound. I bring the melodies of my heart, combined with the true essence of real Hip Hop to Jazz and take you to a place that you can just let go and be free in MUSIC. I'm known for my menacing skills on the tenor sax, clarinet and ewi... I am a Cre8tive Genius and I bring my extreme PASSION for music to DAWNARI.
I go by Dawn P. The L8Bloomer... Waking up in the middle of the night recording lyrics to my phone, songwriting came natural… Singing, now that’s another story. Raised in a musical family and told I would never be able to sing, due to hearing loss and other vocal complications as a child, I remember having a passion for music and developing a complex around my voice. ” I was never comfortable with my voice and my sound and spent years comparing myself to other vocalists. The fear of being different, sounding different held me back. After using relationships as a crutch and back seating my true passion for fear of scrutiny; I woke up! I identified with my individual uniqueness and my sound and I’ve been pressing forward utilizing my voice, my creativity and songwriting ability ever since.” I am Dawn P.
